The Power Table: Innovations for a Brighter Tomorrow
My partner, Tanner and I are attempting to solve a problem that has troubled the people of Africa for centuries. When they migrate, they don’t have any electricity, making them unable to thrive in their environment. Our objective is to help Africans live a better life with a source of power.
Our product is called The Power Table which is a lightweight solar panel and table combination that is able to be moved whenever you have to. Unlike traditional solar panels which are unable to move, our solar panel is lightweight and does not require any complicated infrastructure to run.
Our product also contains an integrated electric stove with an attached LED lamp and a satellite radio in case of emergencies. They will be able to connect the electric stove to the Power Table to boil water or cook food. There will be three sand proofed outlet covers to prevent any outside debris from damaging the electronics while it is being transported. The Power Table will also come with attached ergonomic carrying straps to distribute the load across the body to make transportation much easier. But how are we going to make this happen? First, we will have the product manufactured in South Africa, then transported to the desert civilizations of Africa, minimizing costs to produce and distribute.

Crawfish Lab Writeup
In this experiment we explored the effects of caffeine on freshwater crayfish. In our initial test group, the crayfish died before we had a chance to add caffeine to their tank. In the second test group, we observed the crayfish for two days before adding caffeine, likely because we did not have any of the caffeine yet. On Wednesday we added half a tablet of caffeine (100mg) No noticeable effect. The next day we added an entire 200 mg of caffeine to the crawfish tank. After a few minutes, they retreated into their respective tubes. The next day we gave them another 200 mg of caffeine. The crayfish refused to leave their tubes, even for food placed directly in front of the entrance. We then left for the weekend. The next Monday, we observed the crayfish to be walking outside of their tubes and interacting with each other. After changing the tank water, we added another 200mg caffeine tablet. Approximately 5 minutes later, they returned to their tubes and stopped moving. The next day, on our final day of testing, we added another 200mg tablet of caffeine, and the little movement the crayfish exhibited earlier in the day ceased.
We have concluded that caffeine leads to a depressive effect in the crayfish, this is in opposition to our initial hypotheses that they give the crawfish more energy.

Ionic and Covalent Bonding Mini Project
Questions
Ionic Bonding
1) Ionic bonds are usually formed between metals and nonmetals.
2)Ionic bonds are formed by one atom taking the valence electrons of another atom, leading to the atom with the stolen electrons to have a negative charge, and the atom with the electrons stolen to have a positive charge. These ions are then attracted to each other because of their opposite charges. These formations are usually solids.
3)Ionic solids have many interesting properties, such as having a high melting and boiling point, being a poor conductor of electric, and being very hard and brittle.

Covalent Bonding
1)Covalent bonds are formed between two nonmetals with similar electronegativities.
2)Covalent bonds are formed when, instead of one atom taking electrons from another, electrons are shared between two electrons. these formations are usually gasses.
3) Covalent bonds are usually gasses with solubility in nonpolar liquids but not water, poor electric condudctivity, and very low melting and boiling points.
4) Polar covalent bonds have shared electrons, but they aren't shared equally because they have different electronegaitiviteies, or, they don't have the same amount of valence electrons. Nonpolar bonds happen when atoms in covalent bonds have extremely similar electronegativities, resulting in a ''truer'' covalent effect.

The Vanadium Fist!
Victor Volkovitch was a mild mannered handyman his whole life, but he was always plagued by a horrible problem, his steel tools were always breaking! He did extensive research and testing to attempt to create the ultimate steel tool, but nothing was working! He tried getting them really hot, but they just melted, he tried mixing lead into them, but they were far too heavy to be used by the mortal man. Don’t even get me started on how the hydrogen turned out. Finally, in a fit of blind rage, Victor flung his tools into his pile of scrap vanadium with such force that the Vanadium was rocketed back into him, piercing his veins and entering his bloodstream. He suddenly felt exhausted, and passed out right in the middle of his workshop. When he finally came to, Victor found that he had gained the strength of vanadium, suddenly able to make any metal he touched extremely strong. He was… VANADIUM MAN! Using his newly found abilities, he stops crime with his superior steel power! Evil beware, for you will never be safe from the extremely durable hardware of, THE VANADIUM FIST!
Somewhere, evil lurks! The Oxidizer hides in wait, plotting to take down The Vanadium Fist, planning to heat him to 933 Kelvin, and take him down!

Celestial Precession
Precession is a rotation of the tilt of the Earth’s axes caused by the sun, moon, and planets pulling on the earth as it rotates. This cycle is caused by the bulge out around the equator because of the rotation of the Earth being affected by the gravitational pull of the sun and the moon, causing the earth to wobble around the perpendicular, the straight up and down line, of the earth’s orbit. This affects the Earth by moving its equinox point, the point in the Earth’s orbit where the celestial poles, the imaginary points where the North and South poles, extended indefinitely, intersect the celestial sphere, are equidistant from the sun, earlier in the orbit each year, and by moving where the north star is in the sky. In fact, in about 3200 years, Gamma Cerphei will replace Polaris as the North Star. The precession takes roughly 26,000 years to complete a full cycle. This precession affects seasons by causing the equinoxes and solstices to occur slightly earlier each year, making the tropical year, a year defined by the position of the sun, a few minutes shorter than the sidereal year, a full orbit around the sun.
